I
use Lightwave
7.5, Photoshop, and Premire
6.5 to produce
a 3-D animation. I enjoy modeling and animating but I'm still
trying to find a rigging process that suits my tastes. I'm also
trying to develop my skills at creating surfaces for the models.
Shortly after graduating, I began "renovating" my senior animation - adding more
detail, improving movement, etc. Unfortunately, the pressures of life and a number of other hobbies (that I'm probably better off without) have left little to no time for me to complete what I began.
Only time will tell if I ever return to animation. Still, I loved it while I was doing it.
Note: A Quicktime plug-in
is needed to view the animations.

The original HoverBot with added detail and better texutre. This test features range of movement and a drop-down gun. |

This
animation was part of my senior project. I modeled,
animated, and pieced it together in a single semester and incorporated
into a Flash-based HTML presentation on the 3-D animation process.
Suffice it to say that it was not a fun semester for me. |

A course assignment involving the use of exaggeration to express
emotion. I thought it would be interesting to apply it to an
expressionless, inorganic model. |
Rotoscoped Kicks
(3.7 MB)
|
Rotoscoping involves trying to match keyframed animation to a live
performance. Sort of like motion capture the
long, hard way. Yes, that's me on the billboard. |
|
This was just a simple little exercise in special effects. It turned
out pretty well for the most part, so I thought I'd share it.
There is one anomaly in this clip, though. See if you can find
it. |
